Back To It...

After having A LOT of holiday owed from work and finally getting around to taking it, I'm back at work. I had a fab time off travelling around the north and visiting my friends. I managed to get a couple of extra horse riding lessons in as well as LOTS of shopping. I forgot how much I love Manchester and Bolton and it was lovely seeing so many familiar faces. I got to catch up with Laura, Gabs and Fay over lunch on Deansgate which was lovely (even if Laura did manage to blind us all with her engagement ring) and had a great couple of days shopping with Fay. Hopped across to Bolton on the bus for movie night and tea with Garfield then we went into Bolton for lunch and MORE shopping the next day. The train journey home was a looooooong one (but I had Harry Potter audiobooks to keep me company) and I was in bed at 9.15pm so that shows how pooped I was. Had a nice day yesterday with Mummy having a Starbucks and a look around town (even TKMaxx - ick!) And it's back to work today! I found out I've got a few days off in a couple of weeks as well as my week off in March where I'll be going on a European road trip with my K-dub! So lots to look forward to.


It's good to be home.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

Okay so I know I've been banging on about it quite a lot on my Twitter lately, but it really is THAT good. So I'm going to bang on about it some more. After hearing about a year ago that Emma Watson was going to be playing a girl called Sam in the film adaptation of a book, I thought to myself 'Hmmm, maybe it's worth a read' seeing as how ALL books are better than the film. So I finally got around to buying it after having it sitting in my Amazon basket for about 6 months and all I can say is WOW. I didn't know how much I'd be able to get into it as it's a male narrative but I literally cannot put into words how beautiful it is. It's definitely targetted at younger audiences and I think it's something boys would enjoy reading as well as girls. For a first novel, I think Stephen Chbosky has done a fantastic job (well I would have thought so, considering how its been made into a Hollywood film.) The voice is that of a sensitive, intelligent, fifteen year old boy, who is just so captivating and beautiful. I finished it in three days! Check out the overview below...
