...and it's only Wednesday! Well friends, have I got some stories for you. One of which I can't talk about (that's the horrible story anyway) but I can tell you the two good ones! Great happening #1 -Today I got paid £10 by some market research ladies who wanted my opinions on the costs of living and the recession. I just answered some questions and gave my opinions on some new adverts (which they loved) and got £10 and a free cup of tea! Result!
Okay now for the other fab news. Yesterday afternoon I got talking to this lovely man called Ikram whilst I was at work. We talked about Dad's relationships with daughters and how Dad's can always be won over. He asked me what I do and I mentioned my writing and stories then said about how I'm waiting to hear about a job at BBC North. When he asked what department I said 'Hopefully children's.' He then told me that one of his good friends from University is actually involved with CBBC and is a director and producer. He actually then called her but she was at work so didn't answer. He gave me her contact details and said 'Message her and mention my name, she owes me a favour.' I honestly couldn't believe my luck followers! How kind for a stranger to just help me, I don't think he knows how much his simple act of kindness cheered me up!
I've send the lady a message and hope she replies. Even if she doesn't reply or there is nothing suitable for me in her department it was definitely worth a shot and I've got nothing to lose and everything to gain! It made me feel happy to think that after something really horrible and distressing happening last week, something lovely and kind happened to me this week. Restores my faith in humanity a little bit.
So now I'm just about to have a lovely cup of tea and wait for the reply. I'm so nervous!
Hope you're all having a great week! xo
aw that's amazing. I love spontaneous things like that. I agree, it also restores my faith in humanity :) xx
ReplyDeleteit totally does! hope all goes well with it! i love nice people :) xxx
ReplyDeleteWhen you have children darling, you turn into very un-selfish people because you think of your children before yourself ALWAYS. He must be a family man. I took some cards around to M&S that a lady dropped out of her purse yesterday at my workplace (she was buying a coffee as it was her first day on the job at M&S) ..someone@work mentioned that I just did it to get pats on the back but seriously if her car had broken down and she hadn't been able to call the AA because of her missing card then it would have been terrible. Good things always happen to those who are kind and it pays to remember that.(we are always rewarded some way or another) Selfish people do not get on and prosper in this world as we well know!!
ReplyDeleteI really hope your dream comes true after this man's kindness, especially in view of your nasty incident earlier in the week.
Mummy xx
yes but you dont have to have children to be a kind person!
ReplyDeleteIt mellows you though, because very often people who have not carried a little baby inside do not know that you would do anything to protect your lovely family and help them in any way you can. Kind people are everywhere I know, however it tends to tug more at the heart strings when you are responsible for another being.
