Bye Bye Johanna!

This week we said goodbye to our friend Johanna, whose moving back to Sweden! I'll miss her lots, she's been a good friend and lots of fun to be around. Having a girlie chat with her definitely made the time at work go quicker. Here are a few photos from her leaving party with our fellow HOF girls. Bye bye Jo & good luck! xxx

It's Valentines Day

Today's the day folks. No cards or flowers for me though. To be honest, I generally tend to not partake in anything valentine-y because I think that if you love someone you should celebrate it every day, not just use one day in the year to splash out on expensive gifts. Even when I haven't been single on Valentines day, all I've done is just had a day of quality time with my significant other doing something nice. Last year I had a movie night and the year before that I went for a walk in the woods. But this year it's working all night, followed by a Grint-a-thon, and I'm going to watch Cherrybomb AGAIN.

Enjoy your day lovers, and remember that love should be celebrated every day!

A few from last weekend

Chilled Sunday!

Hey lovely followers!

I'm really looking forward to watching the Baftas tonight! Looking forward to seeing JK Rowling and the Harry Potter team collect the award for outstanding contribution to cinema. Had a busy weekend of work so super tired now. Got some lovely things planned this week! Girls round Tuesday for pizza, wine & movie night, then Johanna from work is leaving to move back to Sweden so it's her leaving party on Wednesday which will be super sad but a good night out too hopefully! Then back to Hereford on Friday for family time!

More work to be posted tomorrow but enjoy your Sunday night my loves! xo

Story in reverse

Hello followers! I realised I've not posted any writing soon so here's something to have a look at. It's from a few years ago and DEFINITELY needs some improvement but it's something I'm going to start doing again. In my Fiction Workshop class at uni we had an assignment to do each week, experimenting with different writing techniques by writing the first 500 words of a chapter / short story in that particular tense / style. This is a story in reverse, which is pretty self explanatory, but it was really fun playing around with the technique. Anyway, here's how mine turned out. It's definitely something I'm going to try and set myself each week! Here's my story in reverse, enjoy!

June.                     Dear Bella. It was your birthday yesterday. I lit a candle for you and prayed for you and for myself. I am still unable to face the outside world. The sunshine and warmth only make me feel colder and emptier. I should be trying to enjoy the summer while it lasts but instead I am shut away unable to talk to anyone. You are the only person I want to talk to, the only person I want to see. I would give anything just for another second of your company. I am trying to be strong but instead am gently falling apart, piece by piece all because you are not here. I miss you more than words could possibly begin to describe. Daddy and Luke are trying to be strong for me, bringing me bowls of tomato soup as that’s all I can stomach, putting blankets over me when I fall asleep in the day, and making me cups of tea when I’m up all night. The police told us they found out what happened to you. I cried for days. You are so brave, and forever in my heart. Mum.

May.                      Dear Bella, I bought your birthday card today. I’ve written you a poem in it for you to read when you are home. Mum.

April.                     Dear Bella, the police are still questioning people and searching the village. I’ve had hundreds of letters posted to me but cannot bear to open them. I do not wish to open them because I know you are still out there. I won’t give up until you are home. I went into your room today and Harry Horse is sat on your bed waiting for you. He says he misses you and wants you to come home, we all do. Daddy made me sausage and beans on toast for lunch. I’ve put your Easter egg on your bed ready for when you come home. Mum.

March.                  Dear Bella, the house was searched again today. I cannot believe anyone would think we would ever do anything to harm you or put you at risk. I feel sick with anger. I have been very sick. I cannot seem to eat anything. It doesn’t feel right without you sitting opposite me at the table. Daddy says I’ve become very thin and pale. I know I’ll be back to my regular self once you’re back so try not to worry. We are all praying for you. It’s been two months without you now. 63 days.  1512 hours.

February.            Dear Bella, today it’s Valentine’s Day. I made you a card with the card making kit you bought me for my birthday. You knew it would come in useful. The police have searched our house and questioned us for hours. We’ve told them everything we know, which is nothing. I feel so helpless. I cannot bear to write anymore. Please come home, nothing is the same without you. Mum.

January.               Dear Bella, where are you? Where have you gone? Who are you with? Why did you leave the house without telling me? When are you coming home? You’ve never left without telling us where you’re going before. I haven’t slept for three days in the hope you’ll knock on the door. No one knows where you are. No one has seen you. I feel as though I cannot function until you are home. Everyone is out looking for you, searching the whole village. I waited at home in case you came home while they were all out searching for you, but you didn’t. You’re gone.

TGIF!

This week I have been a rubbish updater (posts from last weekend to come soon, promise!) But this week I am grateful for a few things. Firstly I'm glad I've got my wednesday's back for the time being. Whilst it was great fun working on the latest issue of Viva, it was awfully tiring not having a day off. So even though next month I'm going back to the office to work on the next issue, I am glad to have my day off back for a few weeks because I've been wearing myself out!

I'm also REALLY loving Lady Gaga's new song 'Born This Way.' I can just tell it's going to be an anthem for summer 2011! Check it out at http://perezhilton.com/2011-02-11-lady-gaga-born-this-way-single-premiere-debut

Until tonight! xo

TGIF

This week I am thankful for having next week off work! It's been all systems go this week and I've tired myself out (yet again) so looking forward to going home and having some nice chilling out time with our VIP's! I'll give you a clue as to who it might be...

Thursday Thursday!

Hello hello hello! It's a lovely day in Manchester today. The sun is shining (no birds tweeting though, just passing trains honking their horns and chugging away.) Off to the Viva office today to collect my copies of the magazine, then off to work until 8pm. Been testing some new beauty products too so more reviews to come and also a couple of foundation reviews! Still working on Lady Chatterley's lover so no review for that just yet!

Blonde hair tomorrow though! How exciting! Will post a picture at the weekend if it looks nice.

Have a great day everyone! xo

Happy Tuesday!

Hello followers. Sorry I've been a rubbish updater lately. Been super busy with work and having lots of fun at home. That considering, I don't actually have any news. Getting my hair done on Friday then it's off back to Hereford on Saturday morning where I've been informed we may have some VIP guests visiting! More on that over the weekend though ;)

Had a thank you email from Viva today for all the work us little contributors put in. Check my work out on the site at www.myvivaonline.co.uk

Hopefully going to take lots of pictures this weekend (will post some of the new hair also.) Got a meeting for another freelance job tomorrow evening, so things are on the up!

Until next time! xo
