It's my birthday tomorrow!!

...and I've heard a sneaky rumour I've got pug and owl cupcakes! Will post pictures as soon as I can take some. Sadly I'm at work tomorrow all day but I've got a skype date with my love in the evening followed by cake and champagne and watching a nice film with my family. Then day off Friday (plus it's payday) so I think I'll treat myself to an extra special manicure and maybe something from Topshop! My lovely friend Sam cut my fringe last night as well and foiled my hair for me so my hair is looking super blonde and birthday-girl-tastic! And on top of that I've got my new Topshop dress to wear to work tomorrow so alls well! :) My birthday last year was pretty fun, let's hope this year will be even better!

Helicopter Heroes

Well, it's finally been aired, followers! As you well know, I was in a riding accident last year which required the help of the air ambulance. The air ambulance and its paramedics do a fantastic job of rescuing people and saving lives so I'd just like to take an opportunity to promote them and this amazing programme. I will admit I wasn't looking forward to watching it and I did get a bit upset seeing it all again (because it actually happened in August 2010) so was a bit distressing having to sort of relive it. Anyway, you can watch it HERE. I'd just like to say thanks to everyone who looked after me, particularly my friend Laura (who has a mini interview somewhere in there) and all of the amazing paramedic team. (That's me lying on the floor down there in case you hadn't already noticed.)

Sunday Funday

Well after spending 3 hours in hospital this morning (don't ask) I have taken to doing research for NYC all aftenoon! I THINK I've found the hotel. Been doing some budgeting and figuring out how much I can save a month. It's so exciting, we're going at the BEST time of year as well. I've also compiled a list of the best NYC bakeries / patisseries to visit as well (sad but true.) Oh I'm just so excited followers! I love it when a plan comes together :)

Saturday night's alright for...

..CHILLING. Hello followers :) I've had suuuuch a busy day again today but it's been fabbity fab. I wore my lovely new black ankle boots and got LOTS of compliments on them, and I earned myself a nice little bundle of commission. Then got home and had a lovely phone call from the boyf and I'm going to see him in two weeks. Lovely lovely stuff. Now I'm just chilling out with my sister having a glass of wine because its my day off tomorrow, so lie in time! I'm looking forward to next week because ITS MY BIRTHDAY ON THURSDAY! YIPPYYYY! So excited.

TGIF!

Well, it's been a while since I've done a TGIF post, but I am SO glad it's Friday, because that means it's my day off! Hooray! Don't get me wrong, I love my new job but it's EXHAUSTING working such long days. I'm having a chill day today in my Spiderman hoodie and snuggly socks with a massive cup of tea and eating some of the treats my sister brought me back from America. I've just had a Lucky Charms marshmallow cereal bar, it was AMAZING. I've also put quite a bit of stuff on Ebay too, so that'll be some extra money for saving towards NYC :) Plus I'm going out tonight for dinner and drinks with all the Starbucks crew! (I'm an honorary Starbucker for the night.) So I'm really looking forward to that. We're all getting really dressed up which will be nice. It won't be a late one though because I've got a lonnnnng day at work tomorrow! 


Im off to paint my nails and finish my cuppa before deciding on what to wear tonight, yippyyyyy!

New Shoes

So, I was naughty today and bought myself two new pairs of shoes - one pair of cute suede ankle boots for work and another pair of slightly more fun ones to replace a pair that are practically falling apart but I cannot bear to part with them. I'll post a picture of the boots tomorrow but here are my suede pink brogues! I looooove them :)

I think things are finally slotting into place, followers! I'm improving constantly at work, planning some amazing trips and came home today to find a nice cheque waiting for me! What a nice surprise! Just had a lovely footspa (being on your feet for 9 hours a day is taking it out of me ha!) and emailed my lovely friend Gabs. I'm now waiting for Gee to get home now so we can talk numbers and NYC!

NYC!

Hello followers! I've had a lovely day shopping in Worcester with my sister today, she bought lots of nice wintery things and I bought a dress from Topshop and a blouse from New Look. We had a lovely lunch at Cafe Rouge and got talking about holidays and have decided to look into going to NYC for a week next November. We got some brochures from Virgin and I'm so excited! New York is somewhere I've always wanted to go as long as I can remember and if we go in November next year it not only gives us time to save lots of money but also it'll be the run up to Christmas so will be extra-amazing! So excited followers!

And so ends my first week

...at my new job. I did a ten hour shift today and I am EXHAUSTED. I'm enjoying it though and payday should be VERY gratifying indeed. I've been looking at holidays and have bought my new dresses and a cardi so everything seems to be working out, FINALLY! Off for a shopping day and lunch with my sister in Worcester tomorrow as it's my day off so looking forward to that. Hooray for life!

They're Done!

After a 14 hour day, I have FINALLY finished my sisters birthday cupcakes ready for her homecoming tomorrow. I'm so proud of them, I think they're my best yet! What do you think followers?

Today is my sisters 20th birthday! Hooray! Luckily for her, she is still soaking up the sun in Florida, but I'm wishing her a Happy Birthday all the same! We're having a day together on Friday with present swapping and catching up so I'm looking forward to it.

St Ives

New job, new dress.

So, to celebrate my new job I have treated myself to two new dresses to wear as I have to look super smart. I wanted a maroon silk one from Warehouse too but the website was playing up and then out of stock. :( Never mind, maybe it'll come back into stock soon and I'll have some birthday money. Anyway here are my new dresses!

Homebound

Well, the last few days were AMAZEYFABBITYMARVELLOUS! Not only did I have an amazing break away with my love, I also got the job I was interviewed for! So excited followers! No more making wishlists and being poor for me :) Will do a proper post tomorrow after work, I need to get an early night in because I'm starting my new job TOMORROW. 


So full of excitement and happiness I could quite happily burst into song! xo

USA!

I've been super busy this afternoon getting my creative on and have made these little badboys to go on some extra special cupcakes in preparation for my sister's homecoming / birthday next week. As you probably know, she's been living it up in Florida since last Wednesday and comes home next Thursday so I thought it would be kind of fun to theme her cupcakes since she's been going on about this holiday for the last 12 months. I've bought loads of red, white & blue themed decorations too so it's going to be super fun making these with my friend & neighbour Emzy next week. Hopefully all goes to plan! 

It's nearly time...

...for my adventure! After being excited for EIGHT WHOLE DAYS it's very nearly time to get in the car with the boy and venture South for my surprise mini break. I've literally been counting down the hours, I think he's glad he didn't tell me sooner because he'd never hear the end of it. I have been quite good though, I've not continually asked what the surprises are or what we're doing, just merely expressed my immense excitement.


Had a call from my lovely lovely friend (and old manager) Laura to help prep me for my interview tomorrow morning (it's a management position so I need as many helpful insights and tips as possible.) Expecting a call from my beautiful friend Gabriella later on as she also used to be a manager so has lots of knowledge. I'm feeling positive though so fingers crossed!


Can't wait to take loads of photos this weekend and do a nice little post about what an amazing time I had. Praying to baby Jesus for sunshine though and no rain (although I've packed my froggy umbrella just in case!)

One door closes...

...and another door opens! Got another job interview Friday morning for a job I know I would be PERFECT for and I'm feeling confident I can do it. I know the job as I'm already trained for it and know I'd be good at it. So keep everything crossed followers! Positive thoughts and all that!


In other news, I had a lovely lovely day in Manchester catching up with friends from House Of Fraser yesterday. I reeeeally miss them but know we are great friends so will definitely see each other soon. I had a great day with the boyf as well, despite the 6am wake up call and consequently having a banging head for the train ride home :( Just looking forward to Friday now so we can get in the car and go on holiday! I'm so excited followers, I definitely deserve a break after all the stress of this year. Photos will definitely be posted as soon as I'm back.


Little sister is having an amazing time in Florida, she says she's bought me some amazing presents so that's always good to know!

Newsies!

WELL, lots to report on this week followers. After not getting the job I so had my heart set on, I have recently applied for something a million times better and more beneficial to my career (and is also the opportunity of a lifetime) so you know what they say, when one door closes, another opens! So fingers crossed for that.


My sister jetted off to Florida on Tuesday (VERY JEALOUS) and today she is at Islands of Adventure visiting The Wizarding World of Harry Potter (don't worry - I've already written my wishlist of souvenirs I want!) However, I'm not as jealous as I was originally becauuuuse...


I'm also being taken away on a mini holiday next weekend by my love, it's all very exciting! I don't know where we're going or what we're doing. All I've been told is it's a surprise, it'll be romantic and I'll have loads of fun. Any ideas as to what it could be?! We're not going for another week but I'm already mentally planning outfits in my head and contemplating packing my stuff ready. 


So alls well that ends well I suppose! Plus we're off to Manchester for the day on Tuesday which I'm SO excited about. It's only a whistle stop tour but will be lovely nonetheless.

Frosting Experiment

So yesterday I decided to experiment with frosting in the lead up to my sisters birthday. I've also got a new piping kit too do tried that out on a couple of cakes. Here are a selection of what I made...


We've got vanilla with oreos, (blue frosting) blueberry cream cheese frosting and raspberry frosting. They are yum-ting! Cream cheese frosting was a bit of a nightmare though because it's just too runny to pipe, so I'll definitely be vito-ing that one out for my sisters birthday cupcakes. I've got an amazing idea in my head though so lets just hope it works out!
