I can't wait...

...to see my lovely friend Rosie this weekend! We're both going to a birthday party (it is of course fancy dress) and we're gonna have a bloody good time!

It's Official!

I'm moving South! Excited, scared and nervous don't begin to cover it, but I'm definitely happy with my decision (after months of deliberating.) I couldn't say anything on Friday as I needed to hand my notice in at work but now it's finally done I can come out and say it.

I will be super sad to leave Manchester (leaving some of my amazing friends I've made this last 12 months doesn't even bear thinking about) but I need to do what's best for me.

Anyway, this week I've got lots of lovely things planned, including date nights on Tuesday and Wednesday, tattoo consultation for my other foot and going home for a big night out at the weekend.

Onwards and upwards! xo

TGIF

I will do a more detailed TGIF later on but today I am grateful for my home. I am grateful for this brief stint of sunshine we've been having today. I wish I could be enjoying it in the beer garden of the Barrels but sadly I have to go to work until 8pm. I will have news tomorrow though so watch this blogspace.

Hope all of your Fridays are fab-u-lous.

Good Morning!

Monday Morning Shakespeare

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damasked, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress when she walks treads on the ground.
     And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
     As any she belied with false compare.

Swifty Sunday

This is one of my favourite of Taylor Swift's covers. It's originally a Coldplay song, but I love her version so much more! Enjoy :)

Minx Nails

I got my nails Minxed whilst at home last week - check them out! I've had to take them off now because they were peeling and kept catching on the shoe buckles at work but they are ideal for someone who is a lady of leisure (sadly I'm not.) For more information, check out their website - they have loads of fun designs. www.minxnails.com

It's Grim Up North!

Well, after a lovely relaxing 10 days living the Herefordian dream I'm back in Manchester and all alone. Don't get me wrong - I love living by myself and doing as I please but it does get boring when you have no money to go anywhere / do anything. I'm off work all weekend so going to spend it sorting out my apartment a bit then job hunting. I daren't go into town because it's always heaving on weekends, so I'm just going to have a quiet day to myself.

Will post some more photos of what I've been up to later on this afternoon!

Speak soon! xo

Happy!

This video makes me stupidly happy every time I watch it! I hope it brings a little bit of happiness into all of your afternoons!

Home, Glorious Home.

Hello loves,

I am officially back in the south for 9 days! Lovely lovely lovely. I've got so much fun stuff planned and lots of catching up with my lovely Hereford friends it's going to be so much fun (if the weather stays nice - fingers crossed.)

Panicking about hearing back from my interview. Eeeeek! Every time I get an email through on my phone my stomach flips over. But, what will be, will be. Even if I don't get this one I have a couple of other projects lined up as backup, so all will not be lost!

I am in talks with one of my friends about a girls holiday as well which would be AMAZING if I can get the pennies together. But we shall see!

Off to sort out what I'm going to wear tonight - 3 dates in one week, I must be doing something right, surely?

Love to all

It's done!

Hello followers! I couldn't post any pictures yesterday because I could barely walk but now the swelling's gone down, check out my new tattoo! It's only half complete (I've got something to go onto the other foot yet) but look!

So, as everyone knows I am a really big fan of the Harry Potter books, and I am also a big fan of tattoos. So I thought I'd like to get something that would represent my appreciation for them without it looking too obvious. As everyone who is thinking of getting a tattoo should do, I did extensive research for about 6 months and discovered a Facebook group which had loads of fan's photos with various tattoos dedicated to Harry Potter. Most of them were of golden snitches, wands, characters and quotes but I knew I wanted something that wasn't so blatantly obvious it was dedicated to Harry Potter. I decided to take a quote from the third book, because this is the book that I made me realise just how much of a fan I knew I would become. I also chose this quote because it uses no characters' names, so only fellow fans who notice it will be able to understand where it's taken from. I also wanted to use two symbols that represented not only things from the books, but things that are personal to me.

In the end I decided on an Owl on my right foot, and a Stag on my left foot. This is because they represent wisdom and strength - two qualities which I hold in high value, but also because they are both key elements in the books.

I got tattooed at Red Sea Tattoo on Oxford Road, Manchester by Dan Morris, who incidentally, did one of my tattoos in Hereford when I was 17. I know I can trust him to do an amazing job and his drawings / tattoo portfolio are just breathtaking. It took just over two hours, and it was incredibly painful in places! Surprisingly the top of my ankle wasn't bad at all but the insides of my foot were awful - my foot kept spasming because it's so sensitive and I was scared I was going to accidentally kick Dan in the face. Luckily I didn't though...

I have to wait another month or so until the Stag is drawn up and ready to be done, but I'm healing really well (with the help of a huge tube of bepanthen) Here is my completed right foot! I can't stop looking at it, it's so beautiful. Big thanks to Dan at Red Sea for drawing this up for me and making it an enjoyable experience!

Take Me To...

Recovery

Wow, I feel so much better today! I ended up falling asleep MID-SENTENCE last night. That's how tired I was. I woke up to about 9 text messages from friends I'd been talking to and just crashed out on the sofa without realising. I feel so much more refreshed today though. I wish I didn't have work for 8 hours, BUT it means I get to see my beloved Fay and have a nice catch up with her.

Really looking forward to getting my new tattoo tomorrow. I'll post a picture if it's not too swollen. Not looking forward to three hours of immense pain but I know it'll be worth it in the end.

Anyway I'm off to finish getting ready for work! I'm full of nerves about this bloody job. But still, positive thoughts people! Love and light an' all that!

The Past 24 Hours

Have been a bloody whirlwind to say the least! I'm back in Manchester after travelling over 500 miles in the last 24 hours. Argh! Big thanks go to my Daddy for driving me and getting me to my destinations safely!

So, without wanting to give too much away, I had a lovely time out last night and the interview went pretty well today. They said I was a strong contender, so now we just play the waiting game I suppose! Getting home at 11pm last night then being up and getting ready at 4am was pretty brutal. Still, one more day at work then I'm off for two weeks more or less. Still got my tattoo session Friday, followed by a second date (with the same person) a week Sunday to look forward. It's all go, go, go!

The girls from work have just called me and we've had a lovely chat. I do love them to absolute death and will be so sorry to say goodbye to everyone when the time comes to leave. I know we'll stay in touch though because we are all really good friends.

I'm off to enjoy a cheeky Sailor Jerry's with my Dad, so I'll say toodle pip!
