Reliving Memories

Hello loves!

So, recently one of my oldest friends and myself got back in contact with our GCSE English teacher whom we both absolutely adored during our time at school. She was always our favourite teacher and we have so many fond memories of her so we were super excited when she invited us to her house for lunch and afternoon tea.

It was so lovely to see her and so touching that she had kept all of our registers from our English class, as well as pieces of work we'd done for her and all the programmes from Christmas Concerts we had both performed poetry at. It was amazing to see the five years of memories brought back to life and of course it reminded us of so many other funny stories. She had even kept the costumes we used in our 'Mummers Play' in 2001.

Anyway, it was such a lovely day and we have arranged to have many more in the future. It was such a lovely day as well, I even caught the sun a little bit! Here are a few photos from my lovely day!

Yummy!

Valentine

By Carol Ann Duffy. One of my favourite poems I'd like to share :)

Not a red rose or a satin heart.

I give you an onion.
It is a moon wrapped in brown paper.
It promises light
like the careful undressing of love.

Here.
It will blind you with tears
like a lover.
It will make your reflection
a wobbling photo of grief.

I am trying to be truthful.

Not a cute card or a kissogram.

I give you an onion.
Its fierce kiss will stay on your lips,
possessive and faithful
as we are,
for as long as we are.

Take it.
Its platinum loops shrink to a wedding-ring,
if you like.

Lethal.
Its scent will cling to your fingers,
cling to your knife.

And so has begun...

...my final week in the North. I must say, this past year has FLOWN by. I have two more shifts at work, followed by about 9 days off to enjoy Manchester / see my friends one last time. I am heartbroken I have to leave but needs must! I have bigger future fish to fry (woah, tongue twister!) Sunday night I had a meal with my 5 closest work friends (I wrote them all a little farewell card - there wasn't a dry eye in the house) and we went to La Tasca for tapas. It was such a lovely evening and we all had such a laugh but it was bitter-sweet because it would be the last time we'd all be together.

They got me an amazing present as well, I was so touched they had something especially made - they even made the label to go inside which says 'A genuine House of Fraser product. Price = priceless.'

I've got another leaving party tomorrow night with all my other work friends - a few drinks at a bar near work - so I'll be sure to take loads of pictures. I took a couple Sunday night but I am dire need of applying my fake tan because I look terminally ill next to all my little bronzed work buddies! (You can see why this blog is named 'Confessions of a Milky Lady.' Going to do it tonight (as well as my nails which are also looking pretty grim) so I'm all tanned and ready to celebrate tomorrow night!

Anyway I think that's all my news. I had a wonderful weekend off with the boy - but that's another story.

Day Off!

Ahh... I had such a lovely day off today! Drove to the Trafford Centre with Fay & Leanne and had TGI Friday's for lunch (with a few cocktails then an ice cream cocktail for dessert!) It was so yummy I'm still full now, 9 hours later! There wasn't much interesting in the shops so we headed back to Manchester for a drink at Label then Fay and I had a look around the shops. It was just a lovely day in general. We laughed so much (especially when Fay decided to try on hideous shoes in TKMaxx) check these babies out! I was laughing so hard because of her little skinny legs in these massive shoes! Also bought myself some cleanser from Lush and a tea tree oil toner tab (like a mini bath bomb you mix with boiling water then sit with your face over a bowl.) I've just done them both and my skin feels super soft! Lets hope it makes a difference! Plus the sun was shining all day which always puts everyone in a good mood, right?

Also, my sister has agreed to start running with me when I move home next month - hooray! So I've got someone to do keep fit with. We're going to go at 7am every morning for 45 minutes. I'll be skinny in no time!

Your Daily Grint

New Week

Been feeling a bit down and out this last week sadly. Had a little pep talk with my Dad last night though so hopefully this one thing that's been getting me down is going to get sorted really soon. But without meaning to dwell on the negative, there's lots to be looking forward to this week. I've got a lovely day planned on Wednesday with my beloved Fay, followed by a nice weekend doing lovely things.

The stress of job hunting / moving is a major stress at the moment but something will turn up, because it always does. But for now, it's time to just focus on leaving Manchester and moving on to bigger and better things.

Want of the week

This weeks want of the week is this stunning dress from Topshop Boutique. Its a shame I'm not rich / going on holiday this year! Poppies are one of my favourite flowers and I just love the pattern. It's £65 so if anyone fancies buying me it I'd greatly appreciate it!

I need a holiday!

Well followers, I haven't posted for a while - the stress of moving is making me lose the will to live! I've been looking at holidays for September in the hope I'll have enough money to go somewhere nice. Although to be honest I'll settle for anywhere as long as there's a swimming pool and some sunshine! But of course if someone else it paying, I'd be more than happy to go to the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas...any takers?

Some from the weekend

Here are a few photos from the pyjama party I went to this weekend. I had a great time (except for losing everyone and being in bed by 12) but at least I didn't have to get changed, I just hopped into bed!
